Your options
All information without guarantee, as of November 2026. Terms and offers change regularly – only the information on the providers' official websites is binding.
- Fiumicino – Leonardo Express: non-stop to Termini station in about half an hour – the easiest choice for the centre.
- Fiumicino – regional train FL1: cheaper, stops at Trastevere, Ostiense and Tiburtina among others, but doesn't go to Termini.
- Buses: several companies run to Termini station and the Vatican – cheap, but depends on traffic.
- Ciampino: buses go straight to Termini, or take a bus to Ciampino station and continue by regional train.
- Taxi at a flat fare: from both airports, a fixed City of Rome fare applies for destinations inside the Aurelian Walls.
Tips
- Validate your ticket: paper tickets for regional trains must be stamped in the machine on the platform before boarding.
- White taxis only: official taxis in Rome are white and carry a licence number. Mention the flat fare before you set off.
- Staying near Termini? Convenient for arrival, but not the nicest area at night – Monti, Trastevere or around Piazza Navona are more charming.
- Cash for small amounts: a little cash is handy for coffee at the bar and small shops – more in our cash guide.

How Voynera helps
After landing, Voynera's arrival briefing shows the route and travel time to your accommodation – and doesn't suggest a transfer if you've already booked one or your card includes ride credit.
