Your options

All information without guarantee, as of November 2026. Terms and offers change regularly – only the information on the providers' official websites is binding.

  • Metro M11: runs from the airport towards Gayrettepe (change to the M2 for Taksim). Cheap and unaffected by traffic.
  • Havaist buses: go to many districts such as Taksim, Sultanahmet and Kadıköy – handy with luggage but subject to traffic.
  • Taxi: at the ranks outside the terminal; because of traffic the journey can take much longer than expected.
  • Transfer: fixed prices and pick-up with a name sign – pleasant when arriving late.

Tips

  • Istanbulkart: the transit card works on metro, buses, ferries and trams – buy and top it up at machines.
  • Distance: the airport is far to the north; allow more than an hour depending on where you're going.
  • Sabiha Gökçen: many holiday flights land at the second airport on the Asian side – check where your flight arrives.

How Voynera helps

After landing, Voynera's arrival briefing shows the route and travel time to your accommodation – and doesn't suggest a transfer if you've already booked one or your card includes ride credit.
