Do I need a voltage converter?
Chargers for phones, laptops and cameras are almost always rated 100–240 V – it says so on the power supply. Then a simple plug adapter is enough.
Devices made only for 230 V, such as some hair dryers or straighteners, won't work properly in countries with 100–127 V. Take a dual-voltage travel device there.
Which adapter suits you?
- Universal travel adapter: covers the common types, often with USB-C ports – good for frequent travellers.
- Single-country adapter: small and cheap if you keep going to the same country.
- Charger with several USB-C ports: saves sockets in your hotel room.
